SFUSD students & YouTube Link to this section
Starting on September 1st, 2021, high school students (grades 9-12) will no longer be able to upload videos to their SFUSD YouTube account. All videos that have previously been uploaded to SFUSD student YouTube accounts will be removed by Google on October 31st, 2021. Students who would like to keep their uploaded videos should follow the steps below to download & save their videos from YouTube before they are permanently deleted on October 31st, 2021.
Please note that students in grades PK-8 have never been able to upload videos to YouTube. These instructions are only for high school students who have previously uploaded videos to YouTube that they would like to save.
Steps to download your videos from YouTube
- Make sure you're logged into your SFUSD account.
- Go to takeout.google.com.
- Follow the instructions in this video to export only your uploaded YouTube videos.
- Check your SFUSD email in a couple hours for a notification that your videos are ready to be downloaded. This email may take up to two days to arrive.
- In the email from Google Takeout, click the blue "Download your files" button to save your videos to your device.
