Hello, my name is Teresa Chow. I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Hong Kong. I completed my undergraduate studies in Business Marketing and got my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential in California State University, Pomona. Several years ago, I received my master degree in education at Concordia University, Irvine. I call San Francisco my home since November 2017. Prior to moving here and joining CIS, I have taught 4th and 5th grades in the greater Los Angeles area for 17 years. I have many wonderful memories of doing different projects with my students and also bringing my gifted and talented students to participate in varies Los Angeles County level competitions. I truly enjoy teaching and nurturing young lives. It is such a joy to see children get that sparkles of learning and becoming more mature throughout the years. I am excited in taking on the new challenges in teaching the children and partnering with their parents at Chinese Immersion School.
When I am not teaching, I like to take photographs, painting, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. I look forward to getting to know both you and your child as we learn and grow together throughout the year! Please feel free to contact me at anytime through email or in person.
I am Cara Lun, a native Cantonese speaker. I was born and raised in Guangzhou, China. Due to my exceptional academic performances in Chinese literacy, my teachers encouraged me to tutor my classmates. Therefore, I enjoyed the feeling of teaching. When I was a teacher in a Chinese elementary school, I felt honored to be able to teach. From then on, I knew teaching is my life career. This year is my ninth year teaching.
As an educator, I believe every child is capable of learning. Hence, my teaching philosophy is to create a happy and safe environment for my students. I dedicate my time to help children to be actively engaged with school life and enjoy participating in age-appropriate activities with me.
I love to spend time traveling around the world and playing board games together with my family. It is my greatest honor to join the CIS community. I look forward to building a close relationship with you as we work together to ensure your child’s success!
Hello CIS families!
My name is Lydia Tang, and I was born and raised in the Bay Area. After completing my undergraduate studies in Social Sciences at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, I earned my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential as well as my Masters in Education at San Francisco State University. From there, I started subbing in K-5 classrooms around the city. Not only did this help me better understand children’s developmental progression, but it also provided me teaching experience with students from different backgrounds. Not long after, CIS invited me to teach fifth grade, which had me overcome with joy. Ever since then, I’ve had the pleasure of working at CIS and being a part of its community.
What I love about my job is that I get to help students become deep thinkers, empathetic, and collaborative. I also cherish the moments when I get to learn from my students too. From what I’ve found, students have great ideas and perspectives to offer, no matter their age.
Teaching has always been meaningful work to me, and I’m grateful to have a part in it. However, whenever there is down time, I like to go out for a hike, have a delicious meal with friends and family, and travel to new places!
