Hello, I am Teresa Chow. I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Hong Kong. I completed my undergraduate studies in Business Marketing and got my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from California State University, Pomona. Years later, I received my Master's degree in Education at Concordia University, Irvine. I called San Francisco my home since November 2017. Prior to moving here and joining CIS, I've taught 4th and 5th grades in the greater Los Angeles area for many years. I have many wonderful memories of doing different projects with my students and also bringing my gifted and talented students to participate in various Los Angeles County-level competitions. I truly enjoy teaching and nurturing young lives. It is such a joy to see children getting those sparkles of joy in learning and becoming more mature throughout the years. I am excited in taking on the new challenges of teaching the children and partnering with their parents at Chinese Immersion School.
When I am not teaching, I like to take photographs, do crafts and paintings, travel, and spend time with friends and family. I look forward to getting to know both you and your child as we learn and grow together throughout the year! Please feel free to contact me at any time through email or in person.

I’m proud to be part of the Chinese Immersion School at De Avila community. I was born in China but raised in San Francisco, where I attended SFUSD schools before earning my undergraduate degree, teaching credential, and postgraduate education from San Francisco State University.
I’ve taught in bilingual classrooms for several years and am passionate about preparing students for middle school and beyond while helping them take pride in their cultural and linguistic heritage. In my classroom, I blend rigorous academics with engaging, hands-on learning experiences that encourage critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. I’ve also led reading intervention programs such as Springboard Collaborative, working closely with families to support literacy growth and build strong home–school connections.
Some of my favorite things to do are trying new eateries and boba shops, traveling, and taking my kids to explore fun places around the Bay Area. I also love planting flowers, and growing vegetables and fruits in my backyard.
