PARAEDUCATOR

Hello CIS families!  My name is Annie Lee, and I am the RSP paraeducator at CIS! I bring over 25 years of experience in Early Childhood Education, most recently working in an inclusion preschool.

Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, I immigrated to San Francisco at the age of 9. I attended Cornerstone Academy from 3rd to 8th grade, where I was first introduced to learning Cantonese. I later graduated from Lowell High School and San Francisco State University with a B.A. in Liberal Studies. While my initial plan was to earn a teaching credential and become an elementary school teacher, life led me to focus on working with preschool children for most of my career. Now, I’m coming full circle, returning to my original path by working with elementary students.

I firmly believe childhood is a cherished time and that it’s our responsibility to create environments and experiences that nurture each child’s unique growth, spark joy, and lay a strong foundation for success in school and life. In my free time, I enjoy exploring the city, going on nature walks to collect various bugs, trying new restaurants with my family and playing Pokemon Go!

PARAEDUCATOR

Hi! I’m Ellen Sing. Growing up in the vibrant city of Hong Kong, I was immersed in a rich mix of cultures and languages. Cantonese is my first language, and my journey later brought me to the United States, where I graduated from San Francisco State University.

I began my career as a substitute paraprofessional in the Unified School District’s Special Education program. Later, I moved into early childhood education as a preschool teacher, and with further training, I became a site supervisor—overseeing daily operations and supporting both staff and families.

After stepping back from work due to health issues during pregnancy, I dedicated several years to being a full-time mom. When my two children entered preschool, I returned to the field as a preschool substitute teacher and an active volunteer at Chinese Immersion School.

Eventually, I was given the opportunity to join CISDA as a Special Education Paraprofessional, where I continue to support students in their learning journey with patience, understanding, and care.

I believe every child has unique strengths and potential. My goal is to foster a safe, encouraging, and inclusive environment where students feel valued and confident to grow—academically, socially, and emotionally.

Outside of work, I enjoy exploring local parks with my family, drawing, and creating crochet projects.

TK PARAEDUCATOR

I’m Liliana Yee, a para-educator for the 1st TK class at CIS. I’m so lucky to be part of the CIS staff and community as this is my 1st year here at the school.

I came from the Biotech world with over 25 years of experience, but after a layoff due to company downsizing, I decided on a 2nd career with education and re-found my love of working with young kids.

Before coming to CIS, I worked as a bi-lingual paraeducator at Gordon J. Lau Elementary School with the reading and literacy program teaching English language learners and newly immigrant kids English and Cantonese. I was also a Special Education (SpED) para-educator having many hands-on experiences in the classroom including teaching individualized
instructions with IEP students.

I look forward to teaching and interacting with even younger minds (TKs)! Thank you for entrusting your child to our staff. I’m excited and looking forward to a year of growth, learning and fun!

In my down time, I love to read and garden and nothing beats a cup of tea to go with that! I also love hanging out with my three grown daughters whenever they drop by for coffee and chat away.
