School Site Council Meeting

The next School Site Council meeting will be on Thursday 10/08/2026 at 5:30PM via Hybrid Meet/ In person Meeting. The major topic will be partial reorganization of family representatives. Please click on the link below for Meet link and agenda.

The main topic of the meeting will be a partial reorganization of family representatives. Currently the breakdown of member ships is as follows: 

• School Staff Members: Principal or their designee: 1
• School Staff Members: Classroom teachers: 4
• School Staff Members: Other school personnel: 1
• Parent and/or Community members: 3
• Students: 3
• Total membership: 12

The proposal shall establish the following subcommittees under the School Site Council: 

• African American Parent Advisory Council
• Association of Latin American Parents
• Chinese Affinity Group

Each Subcommittee shall nominate one representative to serve on the School Site Council (SSC), for a total of three designated seats. A fourth seat shall be open to any family or community member for nomination. 

Additionally, MLK MS will add one (1) additional seat for a Community Partner.

In order to balance the membership, one student representative will be eliminated. One Classroom teacher representative will be added.

The new membership for SSC will be as follows, should the proposal be approved: 

• School Staff Members: Principal or their designee: 1
• School Staff Members: Classroom teachers: 5 (+1)
• School Staff Members: Other school personnel: 1
• Parent and/or Community members: 4 (+1)
• Students: 2 (-1)
• Community Partner: 1 (+1)
• Total membership: 14

• 拉丁美洲裔家長協會
• 華人聯誼小組

每個小組委員會將提名一名代表加入學校理事會（SSC），共設三個指定席位。第四個席位將向任何家庭或社區成員開放提名。

此外，馬丁路德金中學將為社區合作夥伴增設一個席位。

為平衡成員組成，將取消一名學生代表席位，並增加一名任課教師代表席位。

如果提案獲得批准，學校學生委員會 (SSC) 的新成員構成如下：

Reunión del consejo escolar

La próxima reunión del Consejo Escolar será el Jueves 10/08/2026 a las 5:30 p. m. a mediante Meet reunión presencial. El tema principal será la reorganización parcial de los representantes de los miembros de la familia. El tema principal de la reunión será una reorganización parcial de los representantes familiares. Actualmente, la distribución de miembros es la siguiente:

• Personal escolar: Director/a o su representante: 1
• Personal escolar: Maestros/as de aula: 4
• Personal escolar: Otro personal escolar: 1
• Padres/as y/o miembros de la comunidad: 3
• Estudiantes: 3
• Total de miembros: 12

La propuesta establecerá los siguientes subcomités dentro del Consejo Escolar:

• Consejo Asesor de Padres Afroamericanos
• Asociación de Padres Latinoamericanos
• Grupo de Afinidad Chino

Cada subcomité nominará a un representante para formar parte del Consejo Escolar, para un total de tres puestos designados. Un cuarto puesto estará abierto a la nominación de cualquier miembro de la familia o la comunidad.

Además, la Escuela Secundaria MLK añadirá un (1) puesto adicional para un/a socio/a de la comunidad.

Para equilibrar la composición, se eliminará un representante estudiantil y se añadirá un/a representante de maestro/a de aula.

La nueva composición del Comité de Apoyo Escolar (SSC) será la siguiente, en caso de que se apruebe la propuesta:

• Personal docente: Director/a o su representante: 1
• Docentes: 5 (+1)
• Otro personal docente: 1
• Padres/Maestros/as y/o miembros de la comunidad: 4 (+1)
• Estudiantes: 2 (-1)
• cios comunitario: 1 (+1)
• Total: 14

A School Site Council (SSC) must be established at all San Francisco Unified School District public schools. The elected members represent parents, students, community members, and school staff in school governance. The SSC is responsible for the development the Academic Plan, and overall school site budget including any categorical funds. The SSC is expected to:

• Review the SFUSD Strategic Plan: Transform Learning. Transform Lives.
• Review and analyze student data.
• Solicit community input and develop a needs assessment.
• Assist the principal in developing the BSC/SPSA and school site budget.
• Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of the BSC/SPSA on an ongoing basis.
• Approve the Academic Plan and school site budget before it is submitted to the District for final review and approval.
