MLK is a PHONE FREE SPACE.

Phone Pouches:

-All 7th and 8th Graders may use their pouch issued last year or receive a new one

(If they do not have a pouch please send to Student Support)

-All incoming 6th grade students will receive a new pouch 

MLK is a PHONE-FREE School.

1. Cell Phones

If a phone is seen for any reason (on or off)… 

The phone is confiscated and delivered to Student Support where it will be held for the parent to pick-up at their convenience. There are no reminders.

If the student refuses to turn in-their phone…

The student must serve a lunch detention and get a call home. 

*If student refuses to hand over phone, they will lose Cobra Eligibility, and must complete 3 community service tasks plus 3 detentions to restore eligibility.

MLK is a Device-Free School.

2) Headphones, iPad, Apple Watch, or other Device

If you are seen with headphones… 

Headphones do not play music by themselves. They need an electronic device.

ALL DEVICES will be confiscated and delivered to Student Support for pick up at the end of school. There are no reminders.

Repeat offenders will get a phone call home and the device will need to be picked up by the parent after school.

****Exceptions to headphone use:

• Teacher permission to use in class with your chromebook
• Lunch time in the Teen Center for Cobra Eligible students

What if I want to reach my child during the school day?

We want our students to be engaged in their learning. Please refrain from contacting your student during the school day unless it is an emergency. Contact the main office at 415-330-1500 to reach your child.

What if there is an emergency?

In case of an emergency, we direct our students to safety first. School staff will be able to unlock a pouch in a matter of seconds for students once they are in a safe and secure location.

Will my student’s phone be safe?

Students are in possession of their phone - in their pouch - for the entire school day. We will advise students to store the pouch in their backpacks where it is completely safe.

2. 耳機、iPad、Apple Watch 或其他設備

所有設備將被沒收，並在放學後送至學生支援中心領取。學校不會提醒您。

屢次違規的學生將接到電話通知回家，放學後需由家長領取設備。

****耳機使用例外：

• 經老師許可，可在課堂上使用您的 chromebook

如果我需要聯絡身處學校的孩子，該怎麼辦?

我們希望學生能專注地學習。如非必要，請盡量避免於課堂時間與您的學童聯繫。你可以透過致電校務處 415-330-1500 與您的孩子聯絡。

如果有緊急情況，該怎麼辦？ 

在緊急情況下， 我們會先引導學生到安全的地方，然後學校職員可瞬間替學生將手機袋解鎖。

學生的手機安全嗎？

學生的手機將與手機袋全天一直隨身。我們建議學生把小袋放於背包內，以確保安全。

Fundas para teléfonos:

- Todos los estudiantes de 7.º y 8.º grado pueden usar la funda que les dieron el año pasado o recibir una nueva.

(Si no tienen funda, por favor, envíenla a Apoyo Estudiantil).

- Todos los estudiantes que ingresan a 6.º grado recibirán una funda nueva.

MLK es una escuela LIBRE DE TELÉFONOS.

1. Teléfonos celulares

Si se ve un teléfono por cualquier motivo (encendido o apagado)…

El teléfono se confisca y se entrega a Apoyo Estudiantil, donde se guardará para que los padres lo recojan cuando les convenga. No hay recordatorios.

Si el estudiante se niega a entregar su teléfono…

Deberá cumplir una detención durante el almuerzo y se le llamará a casa.

*Si el estudiante se niega a entregar el teléfono, perderá la elegibilidad de Cobra y deberá completar 3 tareas de servicio comunitario y 3 detenciones para recuperarla.

MLK es una Escuela Libre de Dispositivos.

2. Auriculares, iPad, Apple Watch u otro dispositivo

Si lo ven con auriculares…

Los auriculares no reproducen música por sí solos. Necesitan un dispositivo electrónico.

TODOS los dispositivos serán confiscados y entregados a Apoyo Estudiantil para que los recojan al final de la jornada escolar. No hay recordatorios.

Los infractores reincidentes recibirán una llamada a casa y sus padres deberán recoger el dispositivo después de la jornada escolar.

****Excepciones al uso de auriculares:

• Permiso del profesor para usarlos en clase con su Chromebook

• Almuerzo en el Centro para Adolescentes para estudiantes elegibles para Cobra

PREGUNTAS FRECUENTES

¿Qué pasa si deseo contactar a mi hijo/hija durante el día escolar?

Nosotros deseamos que nuestros estudiantes estén dedicados a su aprendizaje. Por favor abstenerse de contactar a su hijo/hija durante el día escolar a menos que sea una emergencia. Por favor comuníquese con la oficina principal del colegio al 415-330-1500 para contactar a hijo/hija.

¿Qué pasa si hay una emergencia?

En caso de emergencia, nosotros llevamos a nuestros estudiantes a un lugar seguro. El personal del colegio será capaz de abrir la funda en cuestión de segundos una vez que los estudiantes estén a salvo y en un lugar seguro.

¿Estará el celular de mi hijo/hija seguro?

Si, ya que los estudiantes estarán en posesión de su celular en la funda y deberán mantener la funda guardada en sus bolsos.
