Greetings MLK Families,

 

Martin Luther King Jr. Day – No Classes

All SFUSD schools and offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

School Site Council 01/15 Meeting Update

The City of San Francisco has issued additional funds to MLK Middle School this year. As a result, MLK has created and presented the following plan for use of funds. 

Academic Intervention

  • Before school reading acceleration program

Academic Engagement

  • PBL unit budget

Family Support

  • Partnership with CBO to supports families in need with resources
  • Emergency gift cards 

Sense of Belonging and Positive Behavior

  • MLK branded shirts, hoodies, etc…

Teacher/Staff Planning Time

  • Dept. release time for planning
  • Community School conference for staff

 

The next meeting will be on Wednesday February 12, 2025 6PM IN-PERSON at MLK MS. MLK will be holding a community meeting to get family, student, and staff feedback on next school year’s priority. We hope families can attend to inform the school of your important priorities.

8th Grade High School Applications Due Date 01/31 5PM

High school applications for 8th Graders are due January 31, 2025 at 5PM. Please submit your applications as soon as possible. Yearbook Purchasing

Hello MLK Families,

 

Yearbooks are currently on sale for $35 but prices will rise to $40 in February, so buy your yearbooks before the price increases again! If you would like to personalize your yearbook, name stamping starts at $8.50 and must be purchased online before January 24th. To avoid the online service fee, we are also accepting alternative payments such as cash, Venmo, and Cash App. If you would like to buy a yearbook using the alternative payment methods, please use this google form to place your order.

Parent Submitted Absences through ParentVUE

Starting in the 2024-25 school year, parents/guardians can use the ParentVUE App, to enter a FULL day absence via the ParentVUE portal on their mobile app or desktop site.

Actualización de la reunión del Consejo del sitio escolar del 15 de enero

La ciudad de San Francisco ha otorgado fondos adicionales a la escuela secundaria MLK este año. Como resultado, MLK ha creado y presentado el siguiente plan para el uso de los fondos.
