Beacon TEL HI: Integrated Academic and Social/Emotional Supports for Students

Beacon TEL HI is an integrated community partner at Francisco.  They provide academic and social emotional support to our students before and after school, during the school day, and in the summer.  They also provide important resources to our families. 

Beacon Registration Flier: English, Chinese, Arabic, and Spanish.

Program Hours Before School: 

  • Mondays - Fridays: 8:30 am - 9:30am (Structured sports program only)

Program Hours After School: 

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays: 4pm - 6:45pm
  • Wednesdays: 2:15pm - 6:30pm

Lorraine Orlandi - Beacon Director

About me:

I've been at FMS for the past six years as TEL HI's Beacon director and love collaborating with the Francisco community -- students, families, teachers and staff. I learned Spanish while living in Central America and Mexico with my family, and I especially welcome the chance to meet families from Latin America at Francisco Middle School.

This is my third year at FMS and my 7th year as a garden educator within SFUSD. I love cultivating healing plants, herbs, and atmospheres alongside students at school. I dream of becoming the mascot for our school and will continue working to make a homemade Ram suit! Grateful for our community and happy to support any way I can - come visit our school garden anytime!
