WHAT'S HAPPENING IN Room 210
ROOM 210 WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
The Newsletter is sent home every Monday. It includes information about what’s happening in our class as well as in our school. Please sign the bottom portion of the newsletter and have your child return it to school by Friday. On the bottom of the newsletter is also space for me to write down if your child is missing any assignments, or any other notes.
Homework Packets are sent out on a Monday and are not due until Friday. The children are also expected to read for 30-40 minutes a day. A reading log is attached to the front of the packet. Please make sure that your child is reading nightly and then sign the reading log. In addition there are multiplication and addition sheets to help with memorization. For the sheets with 100 facts, one side is completed in class and the other side should be completed at home while being timed for 5 minutes.
For the sheets with 25 facts, one side should be completed each day at home while being timed for 1 minute. Single math sheets are occasionally sent home separately and must be turned in the following day so that we can go over it in class. If your child turns in all the homework assignments, along with the signed newsletter and signed reading log, s/he is a Homework Superstar!
The theme this year for our dance/theater production is Maya, Aztec and Incan Mythology. The children will be learning all about these ancient civilizations and by the end of the school year we will have created an original full-length production. We will have monthly nacho sales to help raise funds for costumes and props. Our first nacho sale will be at the end of September and we will need donations. Let me know if you can help sew, donate or lend costumes, or even teach some dances!
