A message from Principal Daniels regarding AP Testing:

  • November 10, 2022, is the deadline to register for AP Testing in May of 2023.
  • Students register when they go to myap.collegeboard.org and join the AP section associated with each AP class in which they are enrolled using join codes provided by their teacher(s). Your child may have already registered. Students can also enroll in an “exam only” section to take an AP test not associated with any of their courses at Mission. For example, students can join the exam only section of AP Spanish even though AP Spanish is not offered at Mission High School this year. Students interested in taking an AP test for a course in which they are not currently enrolled should email me as soon as possible. My email is danielsd2@sfusd.edu.
  • Notes about registering:
  1. If students took an AP class or exam last year, or if they registered with the College Board to take the SAT in previous years, then they should already have an account and should sign in with their username (usually their email address) and password. If they're not sure or forgot their sign in info, they can create a new account, but if they have AP classes associated with different accounts it might cause problems when they apply for college. Instead, they should try the "Forgot Username or Password" help links before deciding to create a new account.
  2. If students have not created a College Board account before, they should click on "Create Account" at the bottom of the page near the right, choose "I'm a Student", then fill in all the information to create their account.
    1. They should use a personal email address because they will lose access to their school email after graduation, and they may want to access their AP scores or information after that.
    2. PLEASE encourage them to double and triple check that they don't make typos when entering their email address! If this happens they won't get information from the College Board and won't be able to access their accounts in the future!
    3. It is a good idea to email or text their login and password information to themselves.
  3. Once they have created their account, they should click on "Join a Course or Exam button."
  • The fee is $97 per exam for students who do not qualify for fee waivers. The fee for students who do qualify for fee waivers is $5. Please email me as soon as possible to verify whether you qualify for a fee waiver.  My email is danielsd2@sfusd.edu. If you learn from me that you do not qualify for a fee waiver, but believe that you should, please review the AP Fee Eligibility Verification Form or the Spanish version. If you learn from reviewing the eligibility criteria that you do qualify for a fee waiver, complete this Google Form and provide me with the documents that prove your eligibility.
  • If you cannot prove that you qualify for fee waivers and are unable to pay for your  AP exams, contact me (danielsd2@sfusd.edu).
  • Students should submit payment for AP exams to me in Room 108 or to their AP teacher(s). Students can pay for their exams via check payable to "Mission High School” or by cash.
  • Any student who decides to cancel or does not take an exam ordered for them on November 15, 2022, will incur a $40 cancellation fee, including those who qualify for fee waivers.
  • Any student who registers for AP Testing after November 15, 2022, will incur a $40 late fee, including those who qualify for fee waivers.
  • Payments can be made after the registration deadline, but should be made as soon as possible after November 15, 2022.
