Introduction
At Thurgood Marshall, we have three dedicated courses to help students reach their college and career goals.
- Social-Emotional Learning. All ninth and tenth grade students are enrolled in a social-emotional learning class that incorporates social-emotional skills, skill workshops, and time to get help with other classes. In the past, this has included financial literacy workshops for both grades and Job Readiness Training for the 10th grade cohort.
- College & Career. This is an 11th grade semester-long course that gives students an opportunity to explore their interests in post-secondary opportunities and the college application process/requirements.
- Senior Seminar. This full-year 12th grade course provides students with in-depth guidance for applying to college, financial aid, and job opportunities.
Our counseling team is also invaluable in their support to help all students graduate with a plan for their post-secondary journey -- whether they are attending CCSF, a four-year university, or entering the workforce full-time.
