June Jordan School for Equity

June Jordan School for Equity was explicitly designed as a school rooted in equity and social justice. It was founded through a community organizing effort by a group of teachers, parents, and youth.  The goal of June Jordan was to provide a better educational experience for students who were not being appropriately served in traditional schools. As a school for social justice, we are committed to serving working-class, communities of color (Latinx, Pilipinx, Black and Pacific Islander).

San Francisco Community School

San Francisco Community School is a small, K-8 school in the Excelsior neighborhood. Since its inception in 1972, the school has been committed to reflecting the socioeconomic and ethnic diversity of San Francisco. In our work, we intentionally take the backgrounds and circumstances of students, educators, and the community into account. The explicit mission is for ALL students to achieve high academic standards and have a positive school experience. We believe that to ensure success, we must measure our progress and hold ourselves accountable for our roles in the results.

Monroe Elementary School

Monroe is a diverse school located in the Excelsior district that hosts three language programs serving children from many linguistic backgrounds around the city. We offer an English Language Development, a Chinese Bilingual, and a Spanish Immersion program. At Monroe, making social justice a reality means that Monroe is a safe place where students, parents, and teachers are engaged in open, honest discussions about the academic progress and the emotional well-being of our students, as well as our shared vision of success for Monroe's students.

John McLaren Early Education School

Our TK program is designed to bridge the preschool learning environment with that of the traditional kindergarten classroom. It is taught by multiple subject credentialed teachers who blend preschool and kindergarten instructional practices in order to meet the individual needs of each child. The instructional day is from 8:40 AM to 2:55 PM. Out of School Time (OST) Care is available at other school sites. Currently our school site does not have an OST program for our TK students.
