This memo is to inform you about new requirements that SFUSD will adhere to regarding the reporting of overtime (OT) beginning with the 2026 calendar year. This change will go into effect as a result of a new federal income tax deduction for Qualified Overtime Compensation (QOC) as defined in One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) act of 2025.
We’re pleased to share that Red Rover, our time and attendance system, now displays leave bucket balances for sick leave, vacation, floating holidays, comp time, and PD Professional Development (Continuing Education). These balances will be visible beginning December 18, 2025.
This one-day institute will provide workshops on Language, Literacy, and Math instructional practices for
PK-8 teachers, coaches and administrators. Educators will sign up for workshops of their choosing.
Application to the Aspiring Teachers Program is now open. Paraeducators and other classified staff, including security officers, noon monitors, afterschool employees, as well as current employees who were previously admitted to Pathway to Teaching Cohort 8 are eligible.

The Climate Action Youth Summit is becoming the Education Teams North Star. It is the event we put on at the end of the school year and around SF Climate Week. Apr. 24, 2026 from 10am-2pm at Yerba Buena Gardens.
On behalf of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), who is leading the Embarcadero Connectivity Plan, are forming a Community Working Group (CWG) of 10–15 community representatives to help guide the planning process. The CWG will serve as a collaborative forum for community consultation on key deliverables and strategies that shape the plan’s development and future implementation. Online, application deadline is Dec. 17th, ongoing.
