The 1440 Foundation is hosting its RISE (Restoring Inspiration & Sustaining Educators) program from July 6-8 at the nonprofit 1440 Multiversity campus in Scotts Valley, for educators and education professionals. The program is available for up to 60 SFUSD scholarship recipients in the July Cohort. Learn more.

Coro California’s fully funded, eight-day Civic Education Leadership Accelerator offers Bay Area History, Civics, and Government teachers hands-on civic learning, leadership development, and a classroom-ready plan. Limited spots—apply by May 12; final deadline June 2. Stipend $800, fully funded registration.

Caltrans will be closing large portions of 19th Avenue on two upcoming weekends. The next closure begins this Friday, May 8 at 3 a.m. The closures may impact school drop-off and pickup traffic, in addition to weekend travel. Students, families, and staff should expect major delays and detours, and plan for significantly increased travel time, especially for school commutes, activities, and weekend events.

Bike & Roll to School Week is NEXT week and the Bike & Roll to School Week Art Contest has been extended to May 15! Walk, bike, bus, and carpool to school May 4-8!

Teachers who are recommended for hire during this window- May 11–15 --may accept positions without requiring release from their current principal.
