Planning for assessment administration and data inquiry cycles has begun. Use the 2025-26 SFUSD Assessment Plan and Calendar to inform planning at your school. Read to find out details regarding the SFUSD Assessment System, timeline, assessment updates, and next steps.

Beginning in 2025–2026, students in kindergarten, grade one, and grade two must be screened for reading difficulties per Education Code Section 53008. All K-2 Educators and school leaders are required to attend training in administering, interpreting, utilizing, and communicating screening results to families. All K-2 Teachers will learn more about the NEW Reading Difficulties Screener (RDS) on August 14.

Grade TK-5 Standards Based Report Cards (SBRCs) will be open on April 14, and must be saved in Synergy by May 21. Principals use the 2024-25 SBRC Trimester Timeline & Guidance to facilitate completion of TK-5 Standards-Based Report Cards (SBRCs) by the dates indicated. Read to find resources to support scoring and for details to complete SBRCs.

The required Spring administration of the Star assessments - Star Early Literacy (Gr K), and Star Reading & Math (Gr 1-2) is April 21-May 16. Read to find out more about resources, reports, and supports.

All K-2 Educators and school leaders are encouraged to attend an upcoming K-2 Reading Screener Review Session on Wednesday, March 12 from 3:30-5pm. Register via bit.ly/AAOPDRegistration 

Completed Grade TK-5 Standards Based Report Cards (SBRCs) must be saved in Synergy by February 19. Teachers use TK-5 SBRC Teacher Guides at bit.ly/SBRCTeacherGuides to support the scoring of report cards, and communicate how students are making progress toward end-of-year standards. Translated Report Card resources are available for families at https://sfusd.edu/reportcards.
