At Willie L. Brown Jr. Middle School, students learn to use project-based STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) practices to develop the foundational skills and beliefs needed to successfully major in STEM degrees and pursue STEM careers. Students use technology as a tool to explore their identities, expand their possibilities, and be of service to others.

Vision:  The Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts is a public, audition-based, alternative high school in the San Francisco Unified School District committed to equity and excellence in the arts and academics for all of our community members.

Mission:  The Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts is a college preparatory school that provides an experience uniquely rooted in dynamic arts programs that reflect our city’s cultural diversity.

We envision Argonne students who desire and have the ability to utilize their minds in a critical, creative manner—neither fearful to experiment with new ideas nor afraid to make a mistake. Argonne provides an academic program based on the core values of interdisciplinary teaching, multiple intelligences, and the development of creative and critical thinking.

As a multilingual, multiracial, and community-driven school, at Alvarado we provide enriching, meaningful learning and prepare every student to thrive in middle school and beyond. Through deep engagement in the arts, music, science, technology, and language—and a strong foundation in academic and social-emotional skills—our students are ready to excel in whatever future they pursue.
