AVID's Mission Statement
SFUSD’s Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID/AVID Excel) program's mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.

The AVID/AVID Excel Elective and Schoolwide Program
Learn about the backbone of the AVID program- AVID elective classes that provide students with a wrap-around support network and in-depth instruction in writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading (WICOR) as well as how to take AVID strategies schoolwide across content areas.
