Academic mentoring model that offers classes taught by African American males, with lessons drawn on historical and contemporary African and African American culture to support students as they explore their identity options, learn how to manage their emotions, learn how to channel their personal will, and develop a positive sense of purpose for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Parent led organization that aims to empower the lives of all African American and Black families by providing the knowledge and skills necessary to advocate for a high quality educational experience for our children. African American Parent Advisory Council (AAPAC) has worked to provide a space to listen, educate, and advocate with and for African American students and families, so that they too, may be a part of this transformational change.

The Advance program seeks to solve for these gaps in services by implementing a framework for coordination, data monitoring, and accountability at comprehensive high schools. Specifically, the Advance model supports high school faculty and embedded community partners with a framework for providing eight essential, high-quality, high-leverage coordinated actions to promote on-time graduation, UC/CSU eligibility, and college enrollment.
