Each May, National Foster Care Month provides an opportunity for people nationwide to focus attention on the year-round needs of youth in foster care and encourage more people to get involved in their lives. We celebrate those who make a difference in the lives of the 75,000 children in California's foster care system. More information on National Foster Care Month.

• Celebrating students for demonstrating their commitment to their educational success.

• Acknowledging nominated supportive adults that have done exemplary work in supporting the educational needs of students in foster care.

How you can support:

• Nominate a supportive adult that you feel has gone above and beyond to address the educational needs of a SFUSD student in foster care by March 24.

• Nominate a SFUSD student that has demonstrated a commitment to their educational success by March 24.

• Attend the End-of-Year Celebration to show your support of our honorees. RSVP for the event by April 21.
