For any unanswered questions about New teacher Orientation, reach out to us via

We believe that onboarding and orienting our newest educators to SFUSD’s equity mission and vision, core curriculum and  signature strategies will help you to be more successful in teaching and learning while you build connections to other new colleagues as you launch your career with SFUSD.

  • Ground new teachers in SFUSD’s vision of equity, anti racist teaching and deeper learning
  • Provide teachers with the specific skills to teach for the first few weeks of school
  • Provide teachers with the nuts and bolts that will allow them to focus on teaching
  • Provide opportunities to connect with other teachers in the same grade/subject area

  • Learn about our district priorities of deeper learning, authentic partnership, and anti racist teaching
  • We offer a variety of workshops to orient our newest educators to our common core math, science, language arts, safe and supportive classrooms, taking online attendance, and more!
  • There are office hour sessions with HR, Benefits, Salary, Credentials, Induction, UESF, and more!
