SFUSD and our City of San Francisco partners recognize that our region's affordable housing shortage places a burden on our educators and other employees. Find resources to support you in finding and maintaining housing.
Down Payment Assistance Programs
- The Educators Downpayment Assistance Loan Program (EDALP) offers up to $500,000 in down payment assistance toward the purchase of your first market rate home in San Francisco. Pre-approved buyers are selected via a lottery.
- The Teacher Next Door Program (TND) provides a forgivable loan of up to $40,000 to cover down payment or closing costs.
- The Dream Keeper Downpayment Assistance Loan Program (DK-DALP) is a down payment loan up to $500,000 for low to middle-income buyers to bid on a residential property on San Francisco's open market.
- The Dream For All Shared Appreciation Loan is a down payment assistance program for first-time homebuyers to be used in conjunction with the Dream For All Conventional first mortgage for up to 20% for down payment or closing costs, not to exceed $150,000. Applications will be drawn randomly. The Registration Portal will open April 3-29, 2024.
