Math Options for 8th Graders 2026-2027

Dear 7th Grade Parents and Caregivers, 

We are writing to share an update on 8th grade Math options for the 2026-27 school year. Starting next year, Math 8 as well as Algebra I will be offered at every SFUSD middle and K-8 school. 

Over the next few weeks, opportunities to learn about options for how students might take Math in 8th grade will be shared with all 7th grade students and families. 

In the next week, all 7th grade students will attend presentations on Math options in Math class.

On May 14, 2026, all 7th grade parents and caregivers are invited to attend our Principal’s Chat online on Zoom where we will talk about Math options.

Following these meetings and time for you to have a conversation with your student at home about their Math options, students will complete a survey (in the upcoming weeks)  in order for our school to gather information regarding course requests in order to plan for next school year.

尊敬的七年級家長及監護人：

我們謹此通知您2026-2027學年八年級數學課程的最新安排。從明年開始，三藩市聯合校區（SFUSD）所有初中和幼兒園至八年級學校都將開設八年級數學以及代數1課程。

在接下來的幾週內，我們將與所有七年級學生及其家長分享有關八年級數學課程選擇的資訊。

下週，所有七年級學生將在數學課上參加關於數學課程選擇的講座。

2026年5月14日，我們誠摯邀請所有七年級家長及監護人參加校長網上Zoom會議，屆時我們將討論數學課程選擇。

Estimados padres y tutores de alumnos de 7.º grado:

Les escribimos para informarles sobre las opciones de matemáticas para 8.º grado en el ciclo escolar 2026-27. A partir del próximo año, Matemáticas 8 y Álgebra I se ofrecerán en todas las escuelas secundarias y de kínder a 8.º grado del Distrito Escolar Unificado de San Francisco (SFUSD).

Durante las próximas semanas, se compartirán con todos los alumnos de 7.º grado y sus familias las oportunidades para conocer las opciones disponibles para cursar matemáticas en 8.º grado.

La próxima semana, todos los alumnos de 7.º grado asistirán a presentaciones sobre las opciones de matemáticas en la clase de matemáticas.

El 14 de mayo de 2026, invitamos a todos los padres y tutores de alumnos de 7.º grado a participar en la reunión virtual con el director a través de Zoom, donde hablaremos sobre las opciones de matemáticas.

Después de estas reuniones y tras un tiempo para que conversen con sus hijos en casa sobre las opciones de matemáticas, los alumnos completarán una encuesta (en las próximas semanas) para que nuestra escuela pueda recopilar información sobre las solicitudes de cursos y planificar el próximo ciclo escolar.
