Application and Audition Information

We are currently accepting applications for the for the 2023-24 school year. 

• Information regarding Audition #2, Wednesday, April 5, 2023, will be posted, March 17, 2023 so please check back!  

• Audition #2 is for students who would like to be considered and did not attend or attended but did not find placement in Audition #1.

• Please note, audition slots will be available for specific departments ONLY.   Details posted soon.

Follow These Steps To APPLY

1.  Apply to Ruth Asawa SOTA  

• Complete and submit a Ruth Asawa SOTA Application Form.
• We accept applications from ALL current 8th grade students.
• Current 9th, grade applicants are considered if space is available. 

2.  Complete an Audition Assignment (required)  -  Details posted soon

• Applicants may be required to complete an Audition Assignment to receive audition.
• Audition assignments are unique to each art department.

3.  Prepared to Audition (required):  Wednesday, April 5, 2023

• Students audition for one art department or strand
• Audition prep posted soon.

4.  Apply to the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD)

• Students applying to Ruth Asawa SOTA MUST also apply to SFUSD. SFUSD has it's own (separate) application and deadline.
• Ruth Asawa SOTA must be listed on the SFUSD application as a preferred school.
