About Us
The ExCEL After School Programs mission is to create and sustain "safe havens" at public schools where students and community members can access expanded learning opportunities and integrated education, health, social service, and cultural programs in the out-of-school hours.
After School Programs
The 21st Century Community Learning Centers, ASES, and ASSETS programs provide a safe place for students to go after school, as well as opportunities for education and enrichment.

Quality Action Plan: The Bus
Our ExCEL programs strive to create high quality school-based afterschool experiences for youth. We imagine ourselves as a vehicle—supporting young people on their academic, social, and emotional journeys.

School Sites
ExCEL After School Programs are currently operating in 89 elementary schools, K-8 schools, middle schools, and high schools. Click here to view the 2021-22 School Year Program Contact List.
Lead Agencies
ExCEL After School Programs demonstrates commitment to sustainability through partnerships with city and community agencies. Beyond ExCEL's continual search for sustainable funds and partners, each after school sites' participating agency contributes resources, both in-kind and in-cash, in order to fulfill their 50% match requirement. In addition, ExCEL After School Programs partners with San Francisco's Department of Children, Youth and their Families to ensure that the funds from local children's tax initiative supports the sustainability of ExCEL ASP Programs and Partners.
