June Jordan School for Equity

June Jordan School for Equity was explicitly designed as a school rooted in equity and social justice. It was founded through a community organizing effort by a group of teachers, parents, and youth.  The goal of June Jordan was to provide a better educational experience for students who were not being appropriately served in traditional schools. As a school for social justice, we are committed to serving working-class, communities of color (Latinx, Pilipinx, Black and Pacific Islander).

Woodside Learning Center

Woodside Learning Center (WLC) serves incarcerated youth that are detained in the San Francisco Juvenile Justice Center (Juvenile Hall). It is our belief that we are given an opportunity to intervene in students academic progress and interrupt any patterns of negative behavior in order to reengage students with school. The staff at WLC are very dedicated to this population with expertise in differentiating instruction to meet the needs of a wide range of learners.

Visitacion Valley Elementary School

Visitacion Valley Elementary School is a Title I School with culturally diverse students and staff who work together to create and sustain a culture of service and support. We are dedicated to partnering with our families and community to provide our students an optimal education that ensures their lifelong success. As part of this process, we host family engagement meetings, events, and workshops on a regular basis.

The Academy - San Francisco @ McAteer

The Academy offers a rigorous and relevant curriculum to meet the needs of our diverse student body. All students complete their a-g requirements during their 4 years and graduate college-eligible. Thanks to a partnership with CCSF, many of our graduates also graduate already having earned transferable college credits.

Every Academy student receives college counseling all four years supported through our two full-time academic counselor and full-time college counselors.

Tenderloin Community Elementary School

Tenderloin Community School (TCS) is a unique PreK-5th Grade public elementary school with community resources located right on the school complex. The school is made up of a District Child Development Center for 3 and 4 year olds, the K-5 elementary school, and community resources including a dental clinic. The staff is committed to working with families and utilizing all available resources to provide students with the best integrated program possible.

Starr King Elementary School

 

Starr King Elementary School is a lively, student-centered and ethnically diverse community located atop Potrero Hill in San Francisco. The school’s mission is to provide a supportive and equitable learning environment that empowers students to be life-long learners and community leaders.

 

San Francisco Community School

San Francisco Community School is a small, K-8 school in the Excelsior neighborhood. Since its inception in 1972, the school has been committed to reflecting the socioeconomic and ethnic diversity of San Francisco. In our work, we intentionally take the backgrounds and circumstances of students, educators, and the community into account. The explicit mission is for ALL students to achieve high academic standards and have a positive school experience. We believe that to ensure success, we must measure our progress and hold ourselves accountable for our roles in the results.
