How You Can Help During School Closures

Announcement Message

To support our community while schools are closed, SFUSD is providing free daily meals to children and is working to ensure that all schools are clean and ready for when students return.

SFUSD serves more than 54,000 students at 119 school sites and serves 37,900 meals daily.

Public dollars are not enough to respond to the critical needs of the communities we serve. After years of rising costs and slowing revenues, San Francisco’s public schools have had to reduce supply budgets and custodial staff. Furthermore, in spite of being the largest meal provider in the City, the federal reimbursement for student nutrition falls far below the cost of providing healthy school meals to the children who need them the most.

Help SFUSD serve families during this emergency closure and help us prepare to support our community’s health when students return.
