To celebrate and honor the land stewardship, historic and cultural contributions by California Native Americans, SFUSD acknowledges California Indian Day on this Friday September 24, 2021. Board Resolution No. 211-26A1 In Support of Reclaiming the American Indian/Alaskan Native Narrative, written collaboratively with American Indian families and passed unanimously by the Board of Education in January 2021, recognizes that the City of San Francisco sits on occupied unceded Ramaythush Ohlone land and identified key reparations one of which is to acknowledge California Indian Day as the fourth Friday of every September.
We acknowledge Friday, September 24, 2021 as California Indian Day and want to share that the American Indian Cultural District is hosting a One Year Anniversary & Cultural Hub Grand Opening Celebration that will be held on Saturday, September 25.
