Announcement Message

The SAN FRANCISCO ALLIANCE OF BLACK SCHOOL EDUCATORS, Presents Its 28th Annual African Honor Roll Celebration, (18th Community Awards Ceremony) via ZOOM --- 2022 for ALL SFUSD students of African American descent in Grades 3-12 who have earned a 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) or higher (Fall 2021). 

This year's ZOOM Event Will Be Held Over Three (3) Days at 5:00 pm:

  • Elementary School Students - February 15th
  • Middle School Students - February 16th
  • High School Students - February 17th

Elementary Principals/Teachers will select six (6 students of African American descent based on their academic performance) in Grades 3rd - 5th. They can select 3 boys and 3 girls or any combination of your choice. 

They should email their list of students with their current home address on your school letterhead on or Before Thursday, January 27, 2022 to Etoria Cheeks at cheekse@sfusd.edu

Certificates: 

ALL African American Honor Roll Students in Grades 3-12 Will Receive A Certificate via US Mail the week of February 7th with the ZOOM Link. 

Students Will Need Their Certificate for The Ceremony. No Medallions This Year Due to COVID-19. The Ceremony is a Signature Event in the African American Community each year and the City & County of San Francisco At Large. 

We expect more middle/high school students to participate this year as they can enjoy the Ceremony in the comforts of their Homes via Zoom.

How Can Educators Help: Please encourage your students to participate. This program requires hundreds of Volunteer Hours. 

Middle and High School Students Who Earned a 3.0 GPA  or Higher Fall 2021 Will Be Honored and Will Receive A Certificate in the Mail to their Home Address of Record the Week of February 7th. 

4.0 Students Who Participate will receive a Special Honors Certificate Mailed to their Home Address the week of March 14th.
