If you test positive for COVID-19 and you do not have sick days or any access to other income during the recovery period, the City of San Francisco will provide you with $1000 so you can quarantine for 10 days through the COVID-19 Right to Recover Program.

There is no application process and the City will not ask or record any citizenship or immigration questions.

Immigration status does not affect eligibility.

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are a resident of San Francisco
  • Are 18 years or older
  • Have a recent case of COVID-19 confirmed by a positive test at a lab
  • Are not receiving paid sick leave or unemployment insurance benefits

To access the program:

If you test positive for COVID-19, call the COVID Resource Center at (628) 217-6101 and ask for the Right to Recover Program.

You can also email sfvaxnow@sfdph.org and use "Right to Recover" in the subject line, and include your name and contact number in the body of the email.
