Excel to the next level with AVID Summer Program!
This 2 week summer program will prepare students with a focused opportunity to sharpen reading, writing, and speaking skills with the goal of having them more academically prepared to be reclassified and ready for high school.
The program is 3 hours per day from 6/8 through 6/22 at Lincoln High School or at Denman Middle School (students can choose which school they prefer).
It is packed with hands-on activities like tie-dying tee shirts, a college visit, fun snacks, and school supplies (Herschel backpacks ). The curriculum is being designed and led by experienced SFUSD AVID/ELD teachers.
Who qualifies?
- Long-Term English Learner (LTEL) students
- currently in 6th or 7th grade
- 8th graders who are not attending another summer program are also welcomed
