The Association of Chinese Teachers (TACT) invites SFUSD Chinese American high school seniors who will graduate in June 2023 to participate in its scholarship program. TACT plans to award ~30 scholarships of $2,000 to students whose goals will benefit their community.
Applicants are required to complete an application form and submit it with 1-2 letters of recommendation and transcript by Mar. 10, 2023 at 11:59 p.m.
We highly encourage students with demonstrated growth and resilience, as well as an interest in entering the field of education to apply. At least one scholarship has been set aside for students whose career choice is to be a bilingual teacher. However, interest in education is not a requirement for receiving a scholarship; all applicants will be read and considered!
Priority will be given to students with high financial need and demonstration of growth.
Selection criteria include:
- Community volunteer service
- Minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA (unweighted)
- Participation in school and extracurricular activities
- Demonstrated leadership in school and/or community related activities
- Unusual circumstances, if any (i.e., health or financial need)
