Announcement Message

Dear SFUSD Community:

Today is the last day of the school year. It also marks the end of my first year as superintendent. These last few weeks of school have reminded me of how special of a district we are. Please check out my video message to our school district community.

Last week, I went to a showcase of student art by students in our AccessSFUSD program. I was blown away by what they produced. You can check out this story about it on ABC7 News.

I also went to Willie Brown Middle School and heard from students in our Mastering Cultural Identity program. They shared their recommendations of how we can continue to support our middle schools. They were so insightful, and their ideas will inform our planning for next year.

And then of course, this past week, we had graduations. I shook so many seniors’ hands who are incredibly proud to be graduating from this district.

As we continue next year to prioritize our actions to improve student outcomes, I’m excited about where we’re going as a district.

We’ll be working hard this summer to get ready for the next school year. I hope you enjoy your summer. I’m looking forward to welcoming everyone back in August.

In community,

Dr. Matt Wayne
