The AI & Data Science: Problem Solving with Real-World Applications Certificate is an 8-session, in-person course designed for high school students eager to explore data science through real-world challenges. Hosted by the MS in Data Science program at the University of San Francisco Data Institute, this beginner-friendly program provides hands-on experience with data science fundamentals using the globally recognized Women in Data Science (WiDS) datathon as a learning framework.
Students will work with real datasets, develop essential analytical skills, and learn to communicate data-driven insights effectively. By the end of the program, participants will have completed a data science project, gained exposure to key AI concepts, and built a strong foundation for future studies or careers.
Jumping into tech as a high schooler can feel overwhelming—but we’re here to make it fun and accessible! No matter your coding experience, we welcome all skill levels. Join us to learn, create, and collaborate with fellow high school students. Whether you're just starting out or already a coding pro, there's a place for you.
