Inspire your 1st- to 5th-grade classes! At this free event, children’s-book authors and artists talk about reading, writing, and illustrating. Between talks, students enjoy a lively drawing session or kid-friendly drag-queen reading. Optional hands-on workshops. Or view from the classroom via livestream (workshops not livestreamed). Grades 3-5, Oct 9 (10:15-11 or 11:15-noon): Shannon Hale (Dream On), Arree Chung (Don’t Cause Trouble), Kyle Casey Chu (Queen Bees of Tybee County). Grades 1-2, Oct 10 (10:15-11 or 11:15-noon): Joanna Ho (Becoming Boba), Shawn Harris (Let’s Be Bees), Maysa Odeh (A Map for Falasteen). Sign-up deadline: Sept 15. Livestream-only deadline: Oct 8.
