Announcement Message
Dear SFUSD Community,
This message is to provide you with today’s daily update regarding our ongoing negotiations with United Educators of San Francisco (UESF), and upcoming related activities this week to support our efforts to reach an agreement and minimize disruption to students.
We remain committed to negotiating in good faith with UESF and working toward an agreement that supports our students, educators, and school communities.
- Timely and responsive information: We have published a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), which we will continue to update as new information becomes available so that families and staff have the most accurate and timely details.
- Special Board of Education Meeting: On Tuesday, Feb. 3, there will be a special Board of Education meeting that will focus on labor negotiations. During this meeting, the Board will discuss and act on an emergency resolution that would provide me, as superintendent, with the authority to make necessary operational decisions in the event of a strike.
- Fact-Finding Report: On Wednesday, Feb. 4, an independent report will be released, analyzing UESF’s requests and the District’s response to those requests. This report will make recommendations on how to proceed.
Our priority is the safety, well-being, and continuity of learning for our students, as well as clear and consistent communication with our staff and families. We will continue to share updates as this situation evolves.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Sincerely,
Dr. Maria Su
SFUSD Superintendent
