2025-2026 Academic Calendar Update

Dear SFUSD Community,

I know that many of you are waiting anxiously to hear about potential changes to the academic calendar.

The Academic Calendar Committee, which consists of representatives across multiple labor groups, met on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026 to discuss and propose changes to the 2025-2026 Academic Calendar to address the 5 missed instructional days due to the strike. 

The Committee has made a recommendation that the 2025-2026 school year be extended by 5 days. The last day of Spring instruction will be June 10, 2026. 

The Revised 2025-2026 Academic Calendar will be brought to the Board of Education during its March 24, 2026 Meeting for action. There are no changes to the academic calendar until it is approved by the Board of Education. 

High School finals week and graduation plans for the Class of 2026 will remain the same. 

In the meantime, we also are working with our partners to address the impacts on end-of-year activities and summer plans. I will provide additional information once it is available.
