Announcement Message

Dear SFUSD Community,

At their meeting on Tuesday, March 24, the Board of Education approved a revision to the 2025-26 academic calendar. The updated calendar added five instructional days, moving the last day of school to June 10, 2026.

This change came after five instructional days were lost from February 9-13, 2026 due to the United Educators of San Francisco (UESF) strike. Following the settlement of the strike, the district and its labor partners worked together to determine how to make up the missed instructional time. As part of this process, the Academic Calendar Oversight Committee—which includes representatives from UESF, United Administrators of San Francisco (UASF), and SEIU Local 1021—met to review possible options.

We are committed to ensuring that students receive their full instructional time as soon as possible, minimize financial impacts to the district, limit disruptions to just one school year, and provide clarity for families, students, and staff.

Given this change here are a few additional details to help you plan for the summer:

High School Finals and Graduation:

High school finals week for grades 9-12, grading period timeline for high schools, and graduation dates for the Class of 2026 will remain unchanged.
