Announcement Message
The SF Shakespeare Festival brings Julius Caesar to the library! This exploration of political intrigue, betrayal, and the impact of leadership is timeless. Fascinating and complex characters create a chain reaction that quickly spirals out of control. Shakespeare’s deft examination of how power can affect people, and the lengths they are willing to go to obtain it, provides rich material for examination and discussion.
This production, a one-hour version thoughtfully cut from Shakespeare's original texts, features walk-on roles for volunteers to join in the fun and concludes with a short Q&A session with the cast. Accessible for Shakespeare novices and highly satisfying for long-time fans, these abridged versions are aimed at a wide age range, from older elementary students on up.
