Student Presentation Opportunity at Peace, Love & Soul Food Juneteenth Block Party
Students, this is your chance to represent your school at the Peace, Love & Soul Food Juneteenth Block Party. If your school is named after an African American leader, we are inviting middle and high school students to give a 3–5 minute presentation exploring a powerful question: If that leader were your age today, what problem would they solve in your neighborhood or city?
This is a live presentation opportunity at a community celebration of culture, food, and unity. Students can apply or be nominated to participate, with only four students selected. Those selected will receive a $50 stipend upon completing their presentation at the event.
Calling All Youth Poets
Calling all youth poets! Elementary through high school students are invited to perform at the Peace, Love & Soul Food Juneteenth Block Party. This is a live opportunity to share your voice through poetry in front of the community while being part of a powerful cultural celebration.
Participants will compete for cash prizes, with awards for 1st place ($500), 2nd place ($250), and 3rd place ($150). Poetry themes include peace on the streets, standing up for others, and building community—encouraging young people to speak on real issues and inspire change.
