SFUSD is a partner with Sandy Hook Promise. As part of this partnership, SFUSD uses the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System (SS-ARS). The system provides a safe and secure way for students and concerned adults to share information about potential threats or warning signs of someone who may be at risk of harming themselves or others.
SS-ARS is available through a telephone hotline, mobile app, and website. Reports can be made anonymously and may include concerns such as:
- Depression or anxiety
- Bullying
- Self-harm
- Behaviors that could indicate a student may harm themselves, someone else, or the school
Students in grades 6–12 will receive training on how to recognize warning signs and make an anonymous tip through the Say Something system.
We encourage families to learn more about the program and talk with their student(s) about the importance of speaking up when they are concerned about someone’s safety or well-being.
