SFUSD participates in several school-based billing programs that fund essential health and mental health services for our students through various state programs led by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). Families are not billed or charged for any services provided by SFUSD as part of these programs. There are no co-pays, deductibles, or out-of-pocket costs for families, and there are no effects on your health coverage plan.
To take part in these programs, we must have parent/guardian consent to share information from students’ education records and collect relevant health insurance information. In the coming weeks, if we do not have this information from a family already, they will receive an email from Paradigm Healthcare Services, SFUSD's billing partner. Please be assured this communication is legitimate, and families are encouraged to respond. Families will receive additional information from SFUSD in advance of the communication from Paradigm.
