Your Child May Have Money Set Aside for Future Education

California’s CalKIDS program provides eligible children with money to help pay for future education at no cost to families. The program was created by the State of California in 2022 to help families start saving for their child’s educational future.

Eligible California public school students can receive up to $1,500, while eligible California newborns can receive up to $175. The funds are placed in a CalKIDS account and can help families get a head start on planning and saving for college and other higher education expenses.

If your child may be eligible, you can check their eligibility and claim their CalKIDS account online. You’ll only need a few basic pieces of information to get started.
