Parent-to-Parent: Help Our School Reach 100% MFIF Submission!

Hi Families!

There is an upcoming deadline to submit the Multipurpose Family Income Form (MFIF) for the data to impact school site funding for the 2027-28 SY. We need your help to get each school site at 100% submissions by October 1. 

What you can do to help your community: 

  1. Share the details with other parents/guardians: 
    • Submit the application at schoolcafe.com. (It takes 5 minutes)
    • 100% MFIF submissions due by October 1
    • MFIF submissions help us have the most accurate Free/Reduced (F/R) percentage possible. 
    • Free/Reduced (F/R) percentage directly impacts school site funding.
  2. Ask! Have you submitted your MFIF this year? 
    • If a parent/guardian isn’t sure if they’ve submitted or received a results letter, they can check their email. 
      • They can search “SFUSD MFIF Results” OR “SFUSD Direct Certification” to check.
  3. Encourage! Even if a family thinks they don’t qualify, their application still makes an impact towards accurate data.

A few things that may make applying easier:

  • Apply as a guest — you do not need to create an account.

  • No Social Security number is required. If asked, it is okay to select “None.”

  • No SchoolCafe app download is required.

  • No email address or phone number is required to submit the MFIF. (But it’s helpful for receiving a results letter!)

  • In the optional section, families who believe they may qualify for SUN Bucks should mark the YES box to opt in.
