Announcement Message

Dear Students, Families, Caregivers, and Community Members,

San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) is committed to ensuring equitable outcomes for all students. In  service of this mission, SFUSD is investing in a robust curriculum-review process to select research-backed,standards-aligned, high quality instructional mathematics materials that support teachers in creating high school math classrooms where all students will make sense of rigorous mathematics in ways that are creative, interactive and relevant.

High School Mathematics Adoption Committee Overview: SFUSD is seeking a representative team of grades 9–12 classroom teachers, resource room teachers, site leaders, principals, interventionists and/or instructional coaches, central office staff, students, caregivers, family and community stakeholders. The team will support the review and selection of Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Precalculus instructional materials for Core/Tier 1 instruction.

The High School Math Adoption Committee will conduct an in-depth review of instructional materials that have advanced through SFUSD's initial screening and review process. SFUSD Staff Reviewers will evaluate materials using SFUSD's established curriculum-review criteria, while Student, Caregiver, Family and Community Stakeholders will review selected areas and provide feedback from their stakeholder perspectives.

Based on its review, the Adoption Committee will identify two materials to advance to field testing by SFUSD teachers and students during two pilot periods in Fall 2027.
