MLK student government is also known as SGOV at MLK. The student government is a student or youth voice for the school. Our student government is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where every single student, no matter who they are, what their background is, every student's voice matters!

The San Francisco Board of Education, SFUSD Superintendent Dr. Maria Su, and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond have worked together to confirm funding that allows the district to cancel final layoff notices for 34 counselors and 117 paraeducators.

On May 17, 2025, we will commemorate the historic inauguration of our nation's first and only Pacific Islander Cultural District.

All SFUSD schools and offices will be closed on Monday, May 26 in observance of Memorial Day.
