Dear Families,

I hope this email finds you well!

October is an exciting month. The weather is starting to transition and the days are getting a little shorter.

By this time of year, students have settled into a routine in classrooms and should have settled into a homework routine at home. Many of our students attend the ExCel program and are able to do much of their homework at school. An afternoon routine at home and for homework is important to establishing good study habits.

We focus a lot on reading at MEC. We want to make sure all of our students leave us with a good academic foundation. Since reading is at the core of reaching academic success in all content areas,I would like to encourage you to encourage your child to read at home every day for at least 20 minutes.  You will notice the difference in  your child's reading in just a few weeks.

The annual SFUSD enrollment fair is coming up at the end of October. This will be an opportunity to virtually visit SFUSD schools for when your child is ready to transfer to a more comprehensive elementary school. Please review the bulletin next week for more information. 

We will also send more information next week regarding our annual Halloween activities. It is always a fun day!

The City and County of San Francisco’s Kindergarten to College (K2C) program helps families
