Caltrans will be closing 19th Avenue from Sloat Blvd. to Holloway Ave. in both directions from Friday, May 22 at 7 a.m. to Monday, May 25 at 10 a.m. The closure may impact school drop-off and pickup traffic, in addition to weekend travel. Students, families, and staff should expect major delays and detours, and plan for increased travel time, especially for school commutes.

Originally posted on May 15: On Tuesday, May 12, 2026 the San Francisco Board of Education unanimously approved John Davis as SFUSD’s next Deputy Superintendent of Educational Services. John brings more than 30 years of experience serving students and school communities.

SFUSD has received a request from the House Committee on Education and Workforce to appear at a hearing on June 10, 2026. Our core focus is ensuring that every student reaches our key outcomes: third-grade literacy, eighth-grade math, and college and career readiness.
