US Food and Drug Administration Granted Full Approval for Pfizer Vaccines

The Center for Disease Control has issued the following notice: FDA has granted full approval for Pfizer-BioNTech (COMIRNATY) COVID-19 Vaccine. CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices is meeting on Monday, August 30, 2021, to discuss its updated recommendation for this vaccine.

San Francisco Updates and Resources.

The Association of Bay Area Health Officials released a press statement, citing that "San Francisco has one of the highest vaccination rates in the nation with 79% of our eligible population fully vaccinated. Impressively, 99% of our 12 to 17-year-olds have received at least one dose of the vaccine. Middle and high schools will be safer because of the high vaccination rates among teens in San Francisco."

The San Francisco Department of Public Health COVID-19 Vaccine Call Center is open to support San Franciscans to book a vaccination appointment, find a drop-in site, or answer questions. The service is available in multiple languages. Please call 628-652-2700.

SFUSD continues encourage anyone who is eligible to get vaccinated to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Visit our website to view a calendar of free and accessible vaccination clinics in San Francisco, learn more about parent/guardian consent, and review FAQs.
