Announcement Message

Dear SFUSD Community,

I recognize that recent news coverage regarding an increased federal presence in San Francisco is causing worry and concern among our communities. Please be assured that we are closely monitoring the situation, and continue to work in tight collaboration with our local and state partners to provide a coordinated response.

Student and staff safety is our priority. We will ensure that our students have continued access to instruction and essential services during this uncertain time. We will provide additional information in the coming days.

At this time, it is critical that the emergency contact information is up-to-date for your student. Please review these important action items:

  • Complete your child’s emergency contact card so staff can know who to reach out to if you are unavailable. Visit sfusd.edu/emergencycard to learn how.
  • Create a family emergency plan in case of separation or other disruptions. Guidance and tools are available on our Immigration Resources page

Click on this link to learn more about your rights and access additional resources. You may call the SF Rapid Response Network at (415) 200-1548 to report immigration enforcement activities.

At this difficult time, we must remain calm and work together. As a school district committed to our values, I am confident that we can get through this.

In community,

Maria Su

SFUSD Superintendent
