Temporary Child Care for Children Under 5

Temporary child care is available for families with children under 5 who are affected by the teachers' strike.

During the strike leading to San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) school closures, the Department of Early Childhood (DEC) will offer temporary child care for families with children under 5 enrolled in SFUSD TK or preschool during the strike. If the strike lasts more than one day, care remains available. We’re here to support continuity of care and essential resources for your family.

DEC is working with licensed early care and education programs citywide to provide this temporary care. Our resource and referral partners are ready to connect your family to available options.
